Many of our oncology patients experience changes in sense of taste as well as changes in what foods appeal to them. Has anyone experienced this ? It's quite frustrating for the families/caregivers as well, who often feel that if they can provide the patient's favorite foods, perhaps their appetite and intake might be better. I'm often told that 'the foods that normally I like hold no interest for me anymore.' The trick is to keep trying a wide variety of foods and realize that what may appeal to you this week will not appeal to you next week!

Hi,
It's kind of funny you mentioned cool whip because at one point I was on a kick of strawberries and cool whip. Taste so good...also ice cream is good to...I found boost and all those were nasty unless I put a banana in it...I ate a lot of chicken, rice. I was on a kick for salt salt for some reason..I guess we all have to eat what we can..but salt is not a good one..I know you are so glad to be done with that stuff...I know I was...I was tired of being sick, and tired of being tired...just keep positive thoughts and happy ones that how I made it through it...you just eat what you can and keep well...take care and God Bless.
