Linking you to resources and support in the lung cancer community!
It's been six years since I lost my dad to this horrible cancer. It so fresh in mind the last words I had with him were on my Birthday that evening he couldn't talk any more the next day he was in a dr induced coma. He was that way for 5 days and on a bed that would rotate him like a chicken to keep more fluid off his lungs.... Then I had to make the decision to pull him off life support. The hardest thing I have ever had to do, it will forever be in my mind.
My father was a retired Chief after 31 years, he loved his hobby farm, his Harley Davidson, his Truck and his 2 daughters and son in law, and his grandchild Tyler. I would give anything to have him back he was young man at age 59 when he passed, it was the most beautiful service with bag pipes playing Amazing Grace and burial at Fort Snelling in MN with 21 Gun Salute, they handed me his American Flag and up above in the sky was the most beautiful Hawk that flew over "the sign" he was still with us. Today my heart is heavier then ever. My sole has a hole. Dad I miss you over and over! I love you. Michelle

Sorry to hear about your father but it certainly sounds like you have beautiful memories of his service. I lost my brother at 59 also but to liver cancer and his one request was that he have bag pipe played at his funeral also. Here is a little verse I like to put in sympathy cards: "When someone one you love passes, they become a memory, and then that memory becomes a treasure". .
