This document informs you of our practices with respect to the online collection, use, and disclosure of personal information by means of LungLoveLink. We reserve the right to change, modify, add, or remove provisions of this Privacy Policy, and any changes to this Privacy Policy will be posted here. Please refer back to this Privacy Policy regularly because your use of LungLoveLink signifies that you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy as it might be amended from time to time.
Do not post full names or any other identifying information. If you do, it is at your own risk. When a reader sees your name and location, it is not hard to discover where you live from information that you posted and your local public records.
Posts in the forum and in the blogs are picked up by internet search engines and may circulate on the Internet for years to be read by anyone in the world. Information that is disclosed on the forum, blog, or other public areas of the LungLoveLink website (including any medical information) becomes public information, and you should be careful when sharing any of your personal information. LCA is not responsible for the personal information you choose to submit in these forums and the policies set forth below do not apply to such information.
User communications to LCA – When you send e-mail to LCA, we may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve LungLoveLink or other LCA websites.
We collect personal information to confirm Users seeking Membership and to send Members notifications about LungLoveLink. You can decline to submit personal information, in which case LCA may not be able to provide LungLoveLink Membership to you. By voluntarily providing us with personal information, you are consenting to our use of it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
· Providing LungLoveLink to you;
· Evaluation, research and analysis in order to maintain, protect and improve LungLoveLink;
· Ensuring the technical functioning of the network; and
· Developing new services.
We may use a Member’s email address to send updates, a newsletter or news regarding LungLoveLink.
Disclosure of Information
We may share with third parties (such as researchers) certain pieces of aggregated information, such as the number of LungLoveLink users who came from a certain state, for example.
LCA may be required to disclose your personal information to the government or other entities in connection with legal process, such as in response to a subpoena, a court order in judicial or regulatory proceedings, or pursuant to a law enforcement investigative demand. LCA may also disclose personal information in its discretion in circumstances where we have a good faith belief that a user may cause bodily harm to him or herself or others.
Member profile information, including members’ pictures and screen names, is displayed to other registered users in order to facilitate user interaction in the various tools available on LungLoveLink. Email addresses are used for the purposes of inviting new friends to join LCA, to add Members to Members’ friends list, and to send notifications related to LungLoveLink. With the exception of any action that a member takes to invite friends, add friends, and use other notifications, a Member’s email address is not shared or displayed to people within LungLoveLink. Members’ full names are never directly revealed to other Members.
Your email address will never be distributed to third parties other than as set forth above without your personal permission, and LCA will never rent or sell your address or contact information to anyone.

LCA is not responsible for the privacy policies of websites and services to which LungLoveLink links, including but not limited to Ning. Our privacy policy only governs information collected through LungLoveLink.
LCA takes commercially reasonable security measures to help ensure data privacy and security. However, we cannot guarantee that communications between you and LungLoveLink or any information provided to us in connection with LungLoveLink will be free from unauthorized access by third parties. Users of LungLoveLink do so at their own risk. LCA cannot guarantee the security of any information that is disclosed to LCA or on the LungLoveLink site. In light of this and because of the security risks associated with using the Internet, LCA does not guarantee error-free performance under this Privacy Policy. To the extent permissible under law, LCA shall not be liable for any incidental, consequential or punitive damages relating to this Privacy Policy.
If LCA merges with another organization, some or all of the personal information collected from LungLoveLink may be transferred to the resulting organization. If so, LCA will seek to obligate the primary organization to use any personal information transferred by LungLoveLink in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy, but cannot guarantee that it will be able to impose that requirement, or that the acquiring company will comply.
