PS - not over the counter, but an RX.  Also use cetaphil for washing your face.

Im going to start on Tarceva 150mg. next week, after 3 previous quimotherapy seccions leave very week and with many side effects...I´m really putting all my faith on this new and expensive pill, hoping that the nodules on my lungs will shrink, and eventually dissapear...I am also concern on and interaction that Tarceva may have with some dietary suplements as¨ hawaiian spirulina¨ and ¨trasfer factor plus¨ that I am currenctly taking on a regular basis, already ask my oncologist and she did´nt had and asnwer to that...Does any one of you Know, if is okey to continue taking it with tarceva ? I will really appreciate your comments...Chely

Andy, keep the chin up I started with 100 mg daily and the rash got really bad I have been on 50 mg daily now for almost a month and the rash is non almost non existant. I use the Myciprocin as Kris recommended for the inside of my nose and that took the infection away immediately, my doctor did not even know about this medicine. Once I got down to the 50mg the rash went away from my eye lids as well. Don't give up, Tarceva does work.

Wow, I will find out what is in store for me this Wednesday, when I see my new Oncologist. I'm stage 3a/b, non operable. Thank you all so much for sharing (although now I'm afraid of yet another possibility) I'd rather know the facts than be blind-sided by them. I second the "keep the faith" sentiment. You are each amazing!

The rash was only really bad for me in the beginning, the first few weeks on Tarceva. All lotions stung. There is a very expensive moisturizer available at high-end department stores called La Mer. They have a Face Cream (Creme de la Mer) that did not burn but it is very costly. Also, there is a skincare line available at Whole Foods called MyChelle which also has face creams and other products that did not burn. My dermatologist prescribed Clyndimycin Phospate Gel as a topical treatment and an antibiotic. I still use the gel from time to time. I still have breakouts every day but they are manageable. Keep out of the sun though. The best body lotion I found was from L'Occitane - Shea Butter Cream. I use that more for dry skin than the rash. I did not get the rash on my body, but I do get it on my eyelids and in my nose. For my nose, which gets infected, I was prescribed Myciprocin (sp?) and that really works.

I am taking 75 mg daily now. The 100mg was too strong for the acne. My doctor changed the 100 mg to every other day. I now have been on 75 mg daily for a week and the acne got bad again my nails hurt and the acne is bad again. I am also taking minocycline (antibiotic) that the dermatologist put me on. I have been taking it for over a month and it has seem to help some. The acne has never gone away though. I stopped taking Tarceva last night and tonight. That's what they had me do in the past to get the acne back under control (two day breaks). I go see my doctor this coming week. The acne is pretty bad to handle. The rash is started to go to my arms and legs as well. Please tell me how you have managed. The acne hurts my face. I have bought some organic mosturizers. Please share how you are handling it. Thanks
