Back and active again - And Lung Cancer Awareness Month right around the corner!!!
Hi everyone,
I'm sorry I've been away and not active over the last few weeks. We've had all sorts of activity at LCA headquarters as Maureen, Miguel and I have been hard at work assembling and mailing out 500 boxes of goodies to cancer centers and hospitals all over the US in preparation for Lung Cancer Awareness Month. 500!!! That's a lot of boxes! It has been exciting but exhausting and I've gotten very very behind in other things as a result. But we are almost done sending everything out and we've had some really helpful volunteers in the DC area (including our very own GADawg!!!) to help us get it done.
Anyway, I promise, you will see a lot more of me now! :-) The action will surely continue as we get closer to November, but I'm determined to keep up!
But since we are talking about November, are you hosting or attending a Shine a Light on Lung Cancer Vigil??? Right now there are 60 events taking place on or around November 1st all over the country. Take a look here for more information. If there isn't one near you, it's not too late to host one! Just invite your friends and neighbors over, stand out on your front lawn, and wave at cars as they go by. It doesn't have to be a big extravagant to-do. But every little gathering brings major awareness to lung cancer.
Hope you consider attending or hosting! I'll be in Nashau, NH for it!

Hi Amy. Thanks so much for all the hard work. Just wondering, how come vigils aren't posted on the event calendar? Would love Orange Vigil to be on the schedule. It's our first ever in orange. Thursday November 17, 2011. 6:45. The cancer center for prevention and treatment, St Joseph hospital 1000 w La Veta Ave. Orange Ca. Need info. Email me. Deva@pacbell.net. Would love for EVERYONE to come. Hey Amy, if I'm still here next year, would love to fly out and help you guys with packing, shipping, whatever you need. Keep me in mind. Hugs and stuff.
