Amy is exactly right. There are many foods, supplements etc etc that have anti-cancer properties. That doesn't at all imply that any of them in themselves are cures for cancer. The best answer anyone can come up with is to do the best overall for our health to fight cancer the best we can... Good luck, God bless and keep the faith...

There is no evidence that I am aware of indicating that lemon juice can kill cancer. There is evidence that citrus has anti-cancer properties, but those are two very different things. There are a lot of things that have "anti-cancer properties" but there are many steps between what kills cancer in a lab versus in your body. Several studies have indicated that citrus consumption decreases the risk of developing certain cancers, but prevention is different than treatment.
Drinking lemon juice in water is not harmful. Touting cures when there is no evidence can be harmful. But I think that David was sharing this piece as something he is skeptical about but doesn't see the harm in trying, which I understand. If he were sharing an article about really expensive herbal supplements that we don't have information about, I might be more cautious.

Comment by Maria on November 7, 2011 at 7:54pm I have heard of that along the way. I am going to buy lemons and stick to one tbsp in am. Can't hurt.
Thanks for the information. Also stay away from sweets as much as possible. I heard that also so I do that also.
Drink Black Currant juice that u can get in the refrigerator dept of a grocery store. It flushes out all free radicals. I have a glass about twice a wk over ice. It is delicious.

Looks like it certainly won't hurt and that there are some interesting studies of the properties of citrus fruits, but that it's probably a bit exaggerated.
All the same, I'm a fan of lime juice in seltzer water instead of soda, so it can't hurt! And if it keeps me from drinking soda, it's definitely a big health benefit!
