POST TREATMENT COUGH
HI, I AM ALMOST 5 MONTHS POST CISPLATIN (4X'X)AND 28 RADIATION TREATMENTS FOR STAGE 2A NSCLC. IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY. CAT SCAN 3 MONTHS AGO WAS CLEAR. COUGH STARTED JUST AFTER THAT. PULMONOLOGIST DIAGNOSED BRONCHITIS TREATED IT WITH PRENISONE AND BENZONATATE. THINGS IMPROVED. THEN I GOT A PAINFUL RASH ON MY HANDS AND STOPPED ALL MEDS. COUGH IS HERE STILL. IS THIS NORMAL? DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS?

ps- I have 2 inhalers that I do daily and I did those plus I also used my rescue at the beginning to get the most air into my lungs. I now have a mild cough that doesn't amount to much!!!

I had Bronchitis for 2 solid weeks- had the same treatment that you did at first. That worked great, but I also had codeine cough syrup.

Thank you for responding. I'm still coughing but the rash is gone. I'm back on prenisone(which i think cured the rash) with 2 new inhalers and codeine cough syrup to sleep. Going for CAT scan next week.
How long did the brochitis last? What kind of treatment did you recieve?

Sounds like the bronchitis that I just had. Perhaps there are other meds she can give you? You must have been allergic to something..????
