Burn has lasted 12 days now and still burns and itches. Applying creams, etc. 3 or more times a day. Could anyone tell me how long these burns takes to heal?

Do you suppose Joe Paterno has non-small carcinoma?

I was told not to put the aquaphor on before the treatments, wait until after. Makes sense...

Had five Sterotactic treatments. That means high concentrated doses. So the burn is the side affect of that, obviously.

Are you saying not to put the ointments on at the same time? I would not do that.

Hi Mary, I had 35 radiation treatments and the burns started fairly early in the treatment and continued until about three weeks after the treatments stopped. They really didn't get a lot worse during the course of the treatments because I used the 100% aloe vera and aquaphor constantly(don't put the aquaphor on prior to the treatments and the aloe within about an hour prior to the treatments. The burns will go away gradually until they are completely gone. I think it took mine about six months before they were completely gone. Talk to your oncologist about the itching, I don't remember having that problem. But then again I was on the fentanyl patches so that may have masked the itching and any pain associated. Good luck, God bless and keep the faith...
