I have survived SCLC (caused by agent orange in Vietnam) for 3 years
I am not trying to make light of my cancer or the journey I still face. I am saying the awful statistics do not apply to everyone. I try to make the most of each day and give thanks to God, my wonderful wife, family and friends. I look forward to updating this December 11 2012.
Merry Christmas
Cecil

Comment by Maria on December 13, 2011 at 12:42am What a wonderful story. I survived 5 yrs of straight chemo of Alimta. I survived 37 straight treatments of radiation. I survived 2 which included three surgerys of in and out with med ports because of complications. I survived these last 2 1/2 yrs of nothing but blood work every 10 weeks. Total of 10 yrs of survival with NSLC. I also praise God every day I awake. I thank my family and friends for their support and prayers. I also thank my holistic Dr. I went to for a few wks. Merry Xmas and many, many more..........

Comment by Shelly on December 12, 2011 at 11:00pm My husband is a survivor of small cell lung cancer since 2007. Went thru full rounds of chemo and radiation. Then, prophylactic brain radiation. He's lung cancer free and at this point he only gets a CT scan once per year.
Miracles do happen!
Comment by Diana48 on December 9, 2011 at 8:47am Cecil.....good for you, I know a gal who is in her sixth year of survival from SCLS also. People have to hear about the good facts as well as the bad facts. Keep your chin up and be thankful each day. Merry Christmas to you as well.
